Bespoke Designer Mirrored Wall Art

All of the designs for our Wall Mirrors are original “mirrored works of wall art”, which must first be painstakingly sculptured in clay in order to create a mould from which a limited number of copies of the mirror frame can be cast using fibre reinforced plaster.

Each Wall Mirror is individually hand painted, after which Beeswax tinted with natural pigments is applied, giving every mirror frame a totally natural and highly durable finish as well as a unique colour and hue. The finely honed skills of the crafstman enable him to vary the finish patina to match each Client’s specific requirements, including aged, antique, metallic, real wood and porcelain effects.

After being glazed with high quality mirrored glass, the finished article can truly be called piece of bespoke, designer mirrored wall art, and a “Certificate of Authenticity” is affixed, signed and dated by the maker, to guarantee the origin, materials, quality and design of every Wall Mirror we supply.

Hanging Wall Mirrors

Wall Mirrors are considerably heavier than normal framed pictures and therefore require stronger and more secure fixings. The fitted hooks must be hung safely, each hook onto its own secure wall fixing.

WARNING : DWall Mirrors are considerably heavier than normal framed pictures and therefore require stronger and more secure fixings. The fitted hooks must be hung safely, each hook onto its own secure wall fixing.

It is recommended that at least 2 people install the wall mirror using the process below. If you are in any doubt, please seek the help of a suitable professional.

  1. Using a tape measure carefully measure the distance between the centre points of the mirror hooks at the rear of the mirror. Double check the measurement then write it down for later reference.
  2. Hold the Mirror against the wall at it’s intended location then mark the position of one of the hooks.
  3. Lower the mirror and place it safely aside. Starting at the point marked, use the measurement noted at Step 1 to measure horizontally across the wall to locate the second fixing point, then mark this point on the wall.
  4. Use a spirit level to ensure that the two marked points are exactly level then double check the measurement between the points is the same as that noted at Step 1.
  5. Drill the wall at both marked points then insert the appropriate rawplugs.
  6. Insert and tighten screws at each point until secure, leaving the screwheads exposed by approximately 6mm (1/4 inch).
  7. Lift the mirror into position ensuring that the fitted hooks on the back of the mirror are firmly hooked over each of the screw heads.

Care and Maintenance of Wall Mirrors

To keep your designer piece of wall art in mint condition, just follow this care and maintenance routine:

  • Avoid positioning your wall mirrors near to direct sunlight as this may cause discolouration and tarnishing.

  • The natural beeswax finish applied to the frame of each wall mirror frame requires no specific maintenance. however should the lustre diminish over time it can easily be revived by gently “buffing” with a soft, dry cloth

  • To clean or dust the frame of your wall mirror, use only a dry clean cloth or a soft bristled brush. (eg. a large size cosmetic make-up brush). DO NOT under any circumstances clean the frame with abrasive cleaning products, spray polish, corrosive liquids or wax removers.

  • Whenever necessary the mirror glass should be cleaned with a soft lint-free cloth or paper towel, dampened with either glass cleaning liquid or warm water mixed with a small amount of white or distilled vinegar.
